The walls of her room are plastered with Yuu Yuu Hakusho posters... As for the lawn flamingos- I am able to make exploding lawn flamingos, but I don't do it often. Grouper-no-danna scolds me when I break the law. TT_TT As for my age- I was 15 and 1/2 years old when Itachi forced me to join the Akatsuki, and I'm 20 years old now (I'll be 21 soon.) Yes, Sasuke did kill me in the manga- not that he's very skilled, but he has that Sharingan thing- and 'Goku syndrome,' which means that nothing kills him, even when it logically should. After my death, I became a Soul Reaper, which brings in more money than being in the Akatsuki. I got stuck with another evil boss, though. Most of the time, however, I live in America- near enough to Grouper-no-danna's state that she can boss me around at will. TT_TT I enjoy reading well-written, NON-PERVERTED fanfiction. Love stories are okay, as long as they aren't indecent. Grouper-no-danna might even link to it. Dumb blonde jokes? *sigh* I have to deal with them all the time. Deidara's name probably comes from a story about a giant called Deidarabocchi (??????? a.k.a. Daidarabocchi ???????) who was said to carry Mt Fuji on his back and create lakes with his footprints. Dei itself can mean "Mud" (?). Dara itself can come from Tara, which can mean "Codfish" (?), which could go with the animal theme in the Akatsuki members' names, or "The Deliverer," "The Saviouress" (??). The last kanji in the latter meaning is the same as the last kanji in Gaara's and Karura's names.

Deidara's character and jutsu are obviously inspired by the famous Japanese artist Okamoto Tarou (????, 26 February 1911 - 7 Januari 1996). Deidara's Ohaku bears a strong resemblance to Okamoto's works. Especially to his famous sculpture Taijou no Tou (????, "The Sun's Pagoda") which was the symbol of the 1970's world fair in Osaka. Okamoto also said the famous words "Geijutsu wa Bakuhatsu da" (????????) meaning "Art is an Explosion." Deidara uses these exact same words to describe art.
