2008/09/06 No, it's not the end of the world- I'm finally updating. I repeat, this update is NOT a sign of the apocalypse. However, the never-before-seen alliance between Russia and the Arabian/Islamic powers, which is predicted in Ezekiel, is a sign of the end times. 0_0 So, ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior! And when you're done doing that, check out the updates in 'Ask the Akatsuki' and some new features in the sidebar. :)
Also, Akatsukitards Oekaki- not OUR oekaki, but another I like- seems to be missing-in-action. I hope that it isn't gone for good. :(
I also updated The Project Akatsuki Blog with tons of spoilers from the new 'Naruto Databook 3.' Among them- Deidara is 19, Kakuzu is 91 and Itachi likes to eat sweets.
2008/07/08 Some awesomeness to last you until I get a real update done.
2008/06/16 ISSUE WITH CAPTION THIS! FIXED!
Apparently, the Project Akatsuki LiveJournal was set not to allow anonymous comments (I had wondered about the lack of feedback! D: ) I have set it to enable comments from non-LiveJournal users now, so you can have fun with the CAPTION THIS! images without signing up on the site. It also means that you can leave random-ish comments on my journal entries there, which could be fun. I would enjoy listening to others' speculations about the future of the manga. LiveJournal - ProjectAkatsuki has been updated with several new entries, including the fruit of a random-fact generator I fed the phrase "the Akatsuki" into. ;) It also has my musings about the manga and other features.
2008/06/02 MASSIVE UPDATE OF WIN!!!
I've been getting a lot of offers to help with the site, and I couldn't think of any ways that off-sites could help- UNTIL NOW. I need help collecting songs by the Akatsuki's voice actors from other albums and series (especially since chances of the Akatsuki getting actual image songs are looking pretty bad- as far as I know, EVEN SASUKE doesn't have an image song!) I also need higher-quality versions of the songs by Deidara's seiyuu, since the ones I ripped from a YouTube video sound horrible. ^^; Please head to the Music page for more information!
We also now have an OCs / Original Characters page where you can show off your Akatsuki OCs. ;) (Even MarySues are welcome- after all, Sasuke is canon!) Submit your characters' info and they might end up as guests on this site. :)
This month's featured Akatsuki artist is Kamden, the twin sister of last month's featured HatakeKelley.
Another new feature at PA is CAPTION THIS!, which is a featured (and usually very strange) Akatsuki image visitors can submit captions for. No registration, etc. is needed- just pick a feature and comment with your captions. We'll add new caption images to the blog from time to time, so be sure to check the Project Akatsuki LiveJournal.
Past features are now archived in the Past Features page.
2008/05/24 The Deidara Twins have blessed Deidara fandom once again- this time, Kamden has written a huge, massive, well-researched essay analyzing Deidara's character design, background, name, inspiration, etc. Any Deidara (or Akatsuki) fan should read this. It can be viewed HERE. I've also added a much-needed Reference page to keep track of the tons of similar essays to which I've found links. Many of them are by Kamden and HatakeKelley, but there are other writers, as well. For any web designers who are interested- I've found a free program at SourceForge called EasyPHP which lets you run PHP on your computer in order to preview PHP pages before uploading them. Until now, I've been looking at the source code, uploading and then checking for errors again. EasyPHP is a great blessing, and it's free. I recommend it to anyone who uses PHP in their web pages.
2008/05/19 I've finally gotten around to answering the pending "Ask the Akatsuki" questions. There were so many that I put the old questions onto a new page- page 05. The oekaki boards seem to be running now, and I also have a new oekaki board- Total Randomness Oekaki. Beyond keeping the art decent (no porn, shounen-ai, etc.,) there aren't rules there- you can draw anime, animals, random objects, celebrities, whatever. Just keep it from being naughty, or it will be removed. :) By the way, I love you guys. It's nice to be back. =D
2008/05/10 Project Akatsuki is BACK! Yay! After the site was moved to another server and I located and deleted a corrupt server file, LittleSnowFox.com is back. Unfortunately, we're still experiencing some slight problems with the oekaki boards due to an issue with the server software- IF YOU USE THE OEKAKI BOARD, SAVE YOUR WORK AS SCREENCAPS *BEFORE* UPLOADING IT!!! On a happier note~ I've redone the Features sidebar with new featured media. This month's Featured Artist is HatakeKelley at deviantART, who made the famous "Akatsuki At Arby's" humor comics. Ask the Akatsuki is back up as well, of course, so we are accepting questions again. For future reference- if the site EVER crashes again, visit deviantART-SuperGrouper or LiveJournal-ProjectAkatsuki for details (please bookmark them for future reference.) Those two sites are not hosted on the LittleSnowFox.com domain and if something goes wrong, one or both blogs will contain details and updates on the situation. Thank you for being patient with us during the downtime. :)
I just found a new Naruto OAV called "Konoha Gakuen," which features them in high school. You can download it here http://www.megaupload.com/de/?d=70HKILMP. The downside? In this OAV, they show an official picture of Orochimaru wearing a schoolgirl uniform and clearly say the word "hentai" when describing him. The image is extremely disturbing- especially since he didn't shave his legs. I never thought that the official Naruto people would ever create something so disturbing yet funny. If you're brave, you can click HERE to see the image.
I've added a PayPal donation button to the bottom of the sidebar. If you want to help support the site, then you can donate via PayPal now. Hopefully this will help with some of the fees associated with being a webmaster- renewing the hosting for this site costs me a month's income.
2008/02/28 I converted most of the site to PHP and did a new (better!) layout, featuring a fanart by http://lanwu.deviantart.com/ as the header. Since PHP imports whole documents, I can update the featured work on every page by changing a single file. The downside? Almost all of the links have changed! Instead of .html, most of the pagenames now end in .php and the popular Ask the Akatsuki is now located at http://www.LittleSnowFox.com/akatsuki/askakatsuki.php.
2008/02/27 I made a page of anime lookalikes at my main site, and since a lot of the guilty parties are Akatsuki, I thought that you might be interested- LittleSnowFox.com-Anime Lookalikes. By the way- I may update Project Akatsuki to use PHP so that I can update it more easily and quickly... If I do that, then the links will change from .html to .php. I just wanted to let you guys know in advance. ^_^
EDIT: I have FINALLY worked through the backlog of "Ask the Akatsuki" emails. You can view the questions and answers HERE.
2008/02/08 You guys asked for updates, and you've got them! =D PROJECT AKATSUKI NOW HAS AN OEKAKI BOARD, Red Moon Oekaki!! Be sure to obey the rules when using it. Requests to join must be moderator-approved (server-side issue -_-) so your requests to join may take a while, but I'll try to check up on them often. If you have trouble joining for more than a few days and you get no response, then email me at littlesnowfox@gmail.com.
2008/01/25 I've added two new sections: MUSIC, which features songs by the Akatsuki seiyuu and SCANS, which features huge scanned/vectored images of the Akatsuki. In the music section, I currently have songs by Deidara and Tobi's voice actors and I hope to add more of their songs and those of the other Akatsuki seiyuu. If you happen to know the names of the other seiyuu or have songs by them, please email me at LittleSnowFox@gmail.com and let me know. Song donations are IMMENSELY APRECIATED. I'm still adding to both of the new pages, so both (especailly the scans page!) will continue to grow. Thank you so much for your support! =D It makes me happy to know that people enjoy my websites. ^_^
2008/01/13 I've split the Ask the Akatsuki section into several pages. It had gotten so large that the HTML file by itself was literally nearing 2 MEGABYTES and it was taking forever to load. The links to the individual Ask the Akatsuki pages are in a bar at the top of the bodytext in the Ask the Akatsuki section. This should speed things up quite a bit. The page that loads first, PAGE 00, is contains the newest entries. PAGE 01 contains the oldest, followed by PAGE 02, etc. Since I separate the pages manually in a text editor, it's easiest on my this way. ^_^ Also... in a tragedy that we all knew was coming, deviantART has apparently removed HatakeKelley's piece "HatakeKelley Explains Deidara," most likely due to the manga scans inserted into parts of it... Fear not, however! <:D I have uploaded it HERE and HERE.
2007/12/28 I've added links to more flash animations in the Flash Animation section. As always, there are tons of new questions and answers in the Ask the Akatsuki section, as well.
I've dumped all of the Akatsuki fanart I've done into a single folder in my deviantart gallery (I LOVE the new folder feature! If you're on deviantART, try it out!) Anyway, the link is here- http://supergrouper.deviantart.com/gallery/#Akatsuki I've linked to everyone else's art, but thanks to the deviantART folder feature, I can now easily link to my own work, as well. That's right- the art at this link was all done by me. http://supergrouper.deviantart.com/gallery/#Akatsuki
I added a lot of new entries to Ask the Akatsuki, but that's typical. I sometimes get 6 emails a day for that feature. In related news, I realized that the font I chose for div.Zetsu in the site's CSS rendered the type almost illegible on several other computers, so I changed the font attributes to something more legible.
2007/12/01 I added updated the site gallery. I added HUNDREDS of new images to a new gallery folder- VARIOUS ARTISTS, for art by those who don't have enough for a whole folder and for Akatsuki art by unknown artists. ...basically, it was just too much trouble to sort out every single image, and some of them were by unknown artists. The main sites I got them from were deviantART and PhotoBucket, so if you want to find the original gallery, try searching by keywords. We also now have a SCANS AND VECTORS GALLERY, which offers huge images. Most of the scans and vectors are from MiniTokyo.net and deviantART. Please view them in the original galleries if possible- for honor's sake and because the galleries offer tons of great images which I haven't uploaded.
2007/11/24 I redid the layout for Deidara's Profile Page, which was previously quite terrible. As always, there are new questions and answers in Ask the Akatsuki.
2007/11/19 I've added a lot of new pages, including The Ninja World Tour Guide and Profile Pages for the guys- think of it as Akatsuki MySpace. I had so much fun with the CSS for their profiles. ^_^ If you hover over the links in the sidebar, you'll notice that I used the <span> attribute to generate pure-CSS pop-up decriptions, which are WAY better than the <acronym> and a:title methods, in my opinion. ...I love HTML and CSS. ^_^ I've also made an OFFICIAL PROJECT AKATSUKI BLOG, which I will update regularly with Akatsuki-related ramblings, media and links. I also added the much-needed Guestbook, which has a bunch of fun questions in it. ;) Please sign it and leave comments, but keep it clean! =D ...Oh, and I also added AN AKATSUKI ART GALLERY, which is basically my collection of Akatsuki images. The titles of the albums are the URLs of the original galleries, so please view the art in the artists' galleries. I'm not done adding all of my Akatsuki art collection- there's still a long way to go, but there are several hundred images in the gallery already. Please give it a look!
2007/11/15 I've redone the site, added some features and removed the ads (which none of you were clicking on, anyway...)
2007/10/24 Major update in the FANFICTION section- stories are now listed as a whole, rather than as individual chapters. It's much easier to update and keep organized that way, and almost all of the stories are at FanFiction.net, which offers a drop-down menu leading to later chapters. Links are to the first chapter of each story. In the case of deviantART hosted stories, there is a numbered link for each chapter beneath the title. There are also A TON of new questions and answers in ASK THE AKATSUKI, which is apparently the most popular part of the site. I usually get several emails per day with questions for the Akatsuki. ^_^ By popular request, TOBI'S BLOG has also been updated, with vital and rare information about Tobi's Senpai. Speaking of Senpai, HatakeKelley Explains Deidara is an excellent piece of fan-reseach I found recently. It's an essay about Deidara's basis and character design with rare facts I haven't seen anywhere else. I recommend that any fan of blondie download it (and if you're on deviantARt, +fav it!)
New header image, taken from Akasuna.net. It's the best Akatsuki graphics site I've found, so please check it out.
2007/10/12 In order to fund the site, I've added Google Adsense ads to the sites. I currently have no employment, so hopefully I can earn money if people are interested by the ads and click on them. It seems like a lot of the ads have to do with foxes, which are quite cute. ^^ Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to click on the ads myself. That would be cheating. I may go to the Google search and look up "foxes," though. Seeing all the fox-related ads in the corner of my screen has put me into a search-for-cute-photos-of-snow-foxes mood. Again, I apologize for the ads, but I really need to keep the site running, so hopefully you guys can put up with them. If I earn enough, I may be able to buy more webspace, meaning that I could host more anime-related randomness. :) I personally don't mind the ads much, since Google lets the webmaster choose the color scheme. :) Yay for purpleness! I was going to do a black-and-red Akatsuki color scheme, but it just didn't look quite right, so I stuck with my favorite color- purple!
2007/09/05 I've added a HUGE amount of links to the Fan Art section, but I'm now linking to galleries rather than to individual arts. I just don't have time to do the coding for the other method... I also added some links to the Related Websites page. Most importantly, I've added links to FireFly's hilarious "One of the Cool Kids" series to the Fan Fiction section.
2007-07-13 I've redone the layout into something a bit more respectable- even if it's mainly a humor site, the layout shouldn't be pathetic. In other news, I've completed another chapter of the Prokect Akatsuki fanfiction- Project Akatsuki 02-Yearly Physical. The Akatsuki are forced to go to the doctor- and the doctor is the new Hokage! What will happen when Itachi is diagnosed with vision problems? Will Zetsu get eaten? Will Sasori escape from LOLITA FASHION? The chapter is rated PG-13 for implied perviness on Bluie's part and humorous musings about Sasori's body... or the lack thereof. Project Akatsuki 02-Yearly Physical
2007-We've added some great, funny fanfiction to the FanFiction page, including part 2 of "Tales from the House of the Red Moon." [Yes, the series' title is an intentional parody of Resmiranda's fanfic series.] We've also added some fun suggestions to the Annoy the Akatsuki page.
