Title: Adesso e Fortuna
Artist: Unknown
Album: Unknown
Series: Record of Lodoss War - OAV
Download: MediaFire
Rating: 5/5 Stars. This is a beautiful and very romantic song. The singer conveys emotion very well.

Title: Ash Like Snow
Artist: The Brilliant Green
Album: Unknown
Series: Gundam 00
Download: MediaFire
Rating: 5/5 Stars. Following the recent Gundam series trend, Gundam 00 is a horrible series with bizarre characters- but it has great music. They ought to put the Gundam composers on the script-writing staff. I might start watching it again…

Title: Because the Sky is There
Artist: Unknown
Album: Unknown
Series: Pocket Monsters (Pokemon)
Download: MediaFire
Rating: 4/5 Stars. It’s pretty and reminds me a bit of Celtic music. It’s one of the few Pocket Monsters songs that is pretty instead of cute or hyper.

Title: Doll
Artist: Lia
Album: Unknown
Series: Gunslinger Girl 2
Download: MediaFire
Rating: 4/5 Stars. It has an interesting quality in its composition, which makes it sound both Western and Eastern to me. It’s a bit sad, but pretty.

Title: Hero’s Come Back
Artist: nobodyknows+
Album: Unknown CD Single
Series: Naruto Shippuden
Download: MediaFire
Rating: 3/5 stars. I hated this the first few times I heard it, but it has a way of growing on you. The strange overload of acoustics and rap plus the interspersion of some lines in English makes it odd, but strangely likable.

Title: Overture in the Past
Artist: Unknown
Album: Rurouni Kenshin Brilliant Collection
Series: Rurouni Kenshin
Download: MediaFire
Rating: 5/5 Stars. The first part of this is absolutely beautiful. Midaway through the track, it totally changes, though- I think that they may have combined two different, short BGM onto the same track. The first part is wonderful, anyway. The lattermost part is just kind of weird…

Title: Overture in the Past ~Piano Version
Artist: Unknown
Album: Unknown
Series: Rurouni Kenshin
Download: MediaFire
Rating: 5/5 Stars. This is the piano version of the first part of “Overture in the Past.” It’s a wonderful song, and the pianist does it justice with his (her?) delicate use of volume shifts.

Title: Tori no Shi
Artist: Lia
Album: Unknown
Series: Air TV
Download: MediaFire
Rating: 5/5 Stars. It’s a happy, fast-paced song with a nice rhythm and several layers of music.

Title: Tsuioku no Mori no Sasagu
Artist: Unknown (Yorihisa’s seiyuu, perhaps? )
Album: Haruka naru toki no naka de - Hachiyo Sho - Vocal Collection [Limited Edition]
Series: Harukanaru Toki no Naka de
Download: MediaFire
Rating: 5/5 Stars. It’s moving and a bit sad, but beautiful. It’s even better if you watch the episode it appears in- it’s the background song for the Nue, who is easily one of the best characters in the series.

Title: We Believe You
Artist: Shinohara Emi (Sailor Jupiter)
Album: Unknown
Series: Sailor Moon
Download: MediaFire
Rating: 4/5 Stars. This is my favorite of Jupiter’s image songs- and possibly of any of the Sailor Moon character songs. The passion and determination in it are a perfect fit for Jupiter’s character, and the fast-paced rhythm is awesome. They might have gone a bit lighter on the synthesizers, but it’s still a great song.

2008/01/28 MP3 Post

These are the sample mp3 for 2008/01/28. If you like them, buy a CD and support the original artist! The sound quality will be much better and you get the CD booklets and more songs if you buy the CDs. Anyway, these songs are my recent favorites. I’ve been listening to them alot.

Title: above the clouds
Artist: Bonnie Pink
Album: above the clouds
Series: Unknown
Download: MediaFire|SendSpace
Rating: 4/5 stars. It’s a very unique song… I’m not really quite sure how to describe it, but it’s nice.

Title: Agape
Artist: Ogata Megumi
Album: Animegu.
Series: Unknown
Download: MediaFire|SendSpace
Rating: 5/5 stars. This is a very cute song. The two parts flow together and apart like the waves of the sea and the voice is very cute. I’m still trying to figure out the title: does it mean agape as in “to stand there with your mouth open in shock like an idiot” or agape as in the Greek word for unconditional Divine love? I’m thinking that it’s the latter, but I’m not sure… how many Japanese songwriters study ancient Greek? Anyway, this song is adorable and catchy. It’s one of Ogata’s remixes from her new Animegu CD. I got the CD from http://singalong.astralromance.com/.

Title: Beautiful World
Artist: Utada Hikaru
Album: Beautiful World/Kiss & Cry
Series: Evangelion Rebirth
Download: SendSpace
Rating: 5/5 stars. This is one of Utada’s fast-paced songs in the style of “Passion.” It’s very dancable…

Title: Believe in Heaven
Artist: Katsuhiko Kawamoto (Deidara’s seiyuu! Yay!)
Album: Unknown
Series: Unknown
Download: SendSpace
Rating: 4/5 stars. This is a great song, but one of its real selling points is that the guy who sings it is Deidara’s Japanese voice actor. Even if that were not so, however, it’s still a great song.

Title: Danzai no Hana ~Guilty Sky~
Artist: Riyu Kosaka;
Album: Danzai no Hana ~Guilty Sky~ Single
Series: Claymore
Download: SendSpace
Rating: 5/5 stars. This is a great song with unique instrumentals and a fast pace. It reminds me of knightly battles.

Title: Inori ~You Raise Me Up~
Artist: LENA PARK
Album:
Series: Romeo x Juliet
Download: SendSpace
Rating: 5/5 stars. This is a very moving song. It’s a cover of a song by Josh Groban, by the way.

Title: romanesque
Artist: FictionJunction YUUKA
Album: El Cazador-romanesque
Series: El Cazador
Download: SendSpace
Rating: 4/5 stars. This is a fast-paced song that reminds me of something that 19th century Spaniards would have used as a dance song. It definitely has a Spanish influence. The composer and singer is Kajiura Yuki, whose stage name is FictionJunction Yuuka.

Title: Synchronicity
Artist: Makino Yui (Sakura’s seiyuu)
Album: Synchronicity
Series: Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations
Download: SendSpace
Rating: 4/5 stars. This is a cute and passionate song sung by Sakura’s seiyuu from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle.

Title: undelete
Artist: Mami Kawada
Album: Baldr Force EXE Resolution-Face of Fact -RESOLUTION ver.- / undelete
Series: Baldr Force EXE Resolution-Face of Fact
Download: SendSpace
Rating: 4/5 stars. This is a hopeful song and a very beautiful one. It’s the sort of song that they would play in an anime when a character everyone thought was dead turns out to be alive and is reunited with their loved ones. It’s calm but cheerful.
